1- Preparation:
Place a small container of distilled water inside the humidor for about 24 hours.
This will help humidify the wood without damaging the furniture.
2- Humidification:
Fill your humidification device with distilled water or a mixture of water and propylene glycol if you are using an active humidification system.
3- Humidity Check:
After 24 hours, remove the water container, then check the humidity level using a hygrometer. The ideal relative humidity for a humidor is typically between 65% and 75%.
-------
Our TL10® humidifier can elevate the humidity into your humidor up to 85%. Remember to use the crown to control the opening and closing of the holes for precise humidity regulation.
--------
4- Adding Cigars:
Once the humidor is stabilized at the right humidity, you can add your cigars. Be careful not to overfill it to allow adequate air circulation.
5- Patience:
Allow the humidor to stabilize for a few days after adding the cigars so that the humidity can balance out.
6- Maintenance:
Regularly check the humidity and add distilled water as needed.
Clean the humidification reservoir from time to time to prevent mold.
The TL10® humidifier can maintain optimal humidity levels for up to 4 weeks, depending on environmental conditions.
**Care Instructions** (also valid for all leathers except special as nubuck)
To preserve the beauty of your Novonappa® leather item over the years, we recommend following these guidelines:
- Be careful not to scratch or rub your product against abrasive surfaces.
- Protect it from moisture and direct heat sources, such as radiators or behind a window in the summer.
- Avoid contact with substances such as liquids, hand creams, antiseptic solutions, makeup, and perfumes.
- If your cigar humidor comes into contact with water, let it dry away from any direct heat source. Once dry, if the leather has not regained its suppleness, gently apply a special leather cream; if unavailable, you can use a pH-neutral makeup remover with a soft cloth, starting with an inconspicuous area to test the leather's reaction. This method will encourage the authentic patina of this uniquely charactered leather to develop.
- When not in use, store it away from high temperatures, excessive moisture, and poorly ventilated areas.
